Create a Beautiful Violet Dreams Birthday Card

This is the card I made for my sister-in-law’s birthday last week. I liked the oval die cuts, They would be good for a scrapbook page, and there are some very pretty designs in the Designer Series Paper. I particularly like the one on the Secret Sea Background, but not sure what I’m going to do with that yet. Do you have a favourite?

Base Card – Gorgeous Grape Cardstock 8 1/4″ x 5 7/8″
First Layer – Hydrangae Hue Cartdstock 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″
Second Layer – Violet Dreams Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 3/8″ x 3 5/8″


Die cut

1 decorative oval in Hydrangae Hue
1 plain oval in Basic White
3 small flowers in Gorgeous Grape
3 small flowers in Hydrangae Hue

Inside Layer – Basic White 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″

Stamp the single flower in Hydrangae Hue in the bottom right-hand corner

On the front of the envelope, stamp the single flower in the bottom left-hand corner in Gorgeous Grape

On the back flap of the envelope add one small Hydrangae Hue die cut flower and one Gorgeous Grape die cut flower

Stamp your sentiment on the white oval in Hydrangae Hue and layer it onto the decorative oval

Glue your layers and sentiment onto your base card.

Add your die cut flowers using mini dimensionals

To finish add some basic pearls.

Whilst I was making this card, I thought the reverse side of the DSP would make a more masculine card, so I made this one too.
